Our commitment to making this website accessible to everyone.
Ike Law (Law Office of Ike Onwukwe) is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe that equal access to information about our legal services is both a legal obligation and a matter of basic fairness, and we work to identify and remove barriers on an ongoing basis.
We aim to align this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard referenced by Ontario's accessibility regulation and is also the benchmark used under the federal Accessible Canada Act. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility, covering content that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation require organizations in Ontario to meet accessibility standards in customer service, information and communications, employment, and other areas. Under the Information and Communications Standard, public-facing websites are expected to conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
As a sole practitioner operating the Law Office of Ike Onwukwe, our firm falls below the employee thresholds that trigger AODA's formal accessibility policy, multi-year plan, and compliance reporting obligations (which generally apply to organizations with 20 or more employees for reporting, and 50 or more employees for certain website requirements). Notwithstanding this, we voluntarily hold ourselves to the AODA's website accessibility standard as a matter of good practice and professional responsibility, consistent with the Law Society of Ontario's own commitment to accessibility for people with disabilities.
This website has been built with the following accessibility features in mind:
Despite our efforts, some parts of this website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations may include third-party embedded tools (such as the Calendly scheduling widget), which are operated and maintained by external providers and are only partially within our control. We are working to identify and address these gaps over time, and we welcome feedback on any barrier you encounter (see Section 7).
If you require information from this website in an alternate format, or need a communication support to access our services (for example, a document in large print, plain language, or another accessible format), please contact our office. We will work with you to provide the information in a format and timeline that meets your accessibility needs, in keeping with the AODA's Information and Communications Standard.
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, have difficulty accessing any content or feature, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know using the contact details in Section 9. We will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly and to address the issue.
Beyond this website, our firm is committed to providing legal services in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, consistent with the AODA's Customer Service Standard. This includes being open to communication supports, assistive devices, and support persons or service animals where appropriate during consultations and meetings.
