Disclaimer

Important information about the legal status of the content on this website.

Last updated: July 10, 2026 · Applies to ikelaw.ca.

1. No Lawyer–Client Relationship

Your use of this website, including submitting a consultation booking request or a contact form, does not create a lawyer–client relationship between you and Ike Law (Law Office of Ike Onwukwe), or any lawyer at the firm. A lawyer–client relationship is only formed once our office has expressly agreed to represent you, conflicts have been cleared, and a written retainer has been signed. Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through this website until a lawyer–client relationship has been formally established.

3. Licensing & Jurisdiction

Ike Onwukwe is a lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (in accordance with Rule 4.2-1.1 of the Law Society's Rules of Professional Conduct, which requires that marketing materials disclose licensing status) and a licensed member of the Nigerian Bar Association. This website markets legal services that the firm is licensed and competent to provide, and any reference to a practice area reflects services the firm is presently able to deliver — consistent with the Law Society of Ontario's Rules of Professional Conduct, Chapter 4 (Marketing).

The firm's services relating to Canadian immigration law are governed by Canadian federal law (principally the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act) and are not limited to any single province, but the firm and its lawyers are licensed to practise law in Ontario. Nothing on this site should be taken as an offer to practise law in any jurisdiction where the firm or its lawyers are not authorized to do so.

4. No Guarantee of Results

Immigration applications are ultimately decided by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Canada Border Services Agency, or other government and tribunal decision-makers — not by this firm. Nothing on this website, including descriptions of past experience, practice areas, or general success in a category of case, constitutes a promise, warranty, or guarantee regarding the outcome of any current or future matter. Past results do not predict or guarantee similar outcomes in any other case, as every matter depends on its own facts, evidence, and the discretion of the relevant decision-maker.

5. Accuracy of Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on this website current and accurate, but immigration law, policy, processing times, and fees change frequently and without notice. We do not warrant that any information on this site is complete, current, or error-free, and we are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from reliance on outdated or inaccurate content. For the most current program requirements and processing information, please consult the Government of Canada's official website (canada.ca) or contact our office directly.

6. Third-Party Links & Tools

This website may contain links to, or make use of, third-party websites and tools — including Calendly for scheduling, Formspree for form submission, and government resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party site or service. Inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.

7. Confidentiality Before a Retainer

Because no lawyer–client relationship exists until a retainer is signed, information you send us before that point — including through the consultation booking form or contact form — may not be protected by solicitor–client privilege in the same way as communications made after retainer. We treat all inquiries as confidential as a matter of practice and in keeping with our obligations under the Law Society of Ontario's Rules of Professional Conduct, but we encourage you to avoid sending highly sensitive documents or information until representation has been confirmed in writing.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ike Law (Law Office of Ike Onwukwe) and its lawyers, employees, and agents disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with, your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content. This disclaimer does not exclude or limit liability for anything which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability under professional obligations owed to actual clients of the firm.

9. Areas of Practice & Referrals

Ike Onwukwe does not hold certification as a specialist under the Law Society of Ontario's specialist certification program. References on this site to areas of practice or experience describe the firm's focus and background, not a certified specialization, in accordance with Rule 4.3-1 of the Law Society's Rules of Professional Conduct. Where a matter falls outside the firm's competence or licensing, we will advise you and, where appropriate, assist you in finding suitable alternative counsel.
